Fraustated customer

I purchased a T5 Kombi 2.0 FY46XYGP from VW Soweto a pre owned vehicle ,November 2017,it was 195000km when I purchased the vehicle .Beginning of April 2018 I experienced a problem with the ignition of the car I could not start the car.

I then reported the matter to Vw Soweto and booked the 4th of April 2018 for the car to be fixed. They then called me that week to inform me that they are waiting for authorization from motor ride to fix the problem because I had extended warranty on the vehicle,I got a call from VW consultant that motor ride said they will be covering car warranty after 2years which I did not understand because I'm currently paying the vehicles warranty and when I purchased the vehicle VW told me that warranty cover is immediate .

The consultant khensani then said she will talk to them and she will call me back. On the 9th of April 2018 I got a call from the consultant that motor ride won't be able to cover the cost I must pay out of my own pocket.

I then went to VW Soweto what can they do because I won't pay for the cost ,I had the car for only 4months and I did not use the vehicle much and already I'm experiencing problems and according to the Consumer Proctection act 68 of 2018 section56 of the CPA ,consumer entitled to return purchased goods within 6months of being delivered at the suppliers risk and expense and without penalty and have the item repaired replaced or get a full refund of the price paid.

The VW Manager Mr Clairens was not of any help and had such an attitude and arrogantly told me that he won't pay all the expenses he will only pay 50percent of the cost of the repairs and I must pay 50percent as well ,Which I refused and found it strange because when I purchased the vehicle I was not told that if anything is a problem within the period of 6month I must pay 50percent of the repairs when I experience a problem with the vehicle.

I then told Mr Clairens that I'm going to report this matter to VW head office and Motor Industry Ombudsman. He then told me with a not caring attitude that I can go complain he will only pay 50percent of the cost and that's it.

I'm really disappointed dissatisfied with service I got from VW Soweto, and I think Mr Clairens should go for training on how to treat and speak to customers and how to properly resolve such issues.

I would appreciate it if the car could be fixed and VW to cover the cost as per Customer protection act.
