Factory faults 2020 VW Polo ( VW McCarthy Durban)

A month ago I wrote a review about VW South Africa regarding a shattered sunroof after purchasing a brand new vehicle from the VW McCarthy Durban end of September 2020.

My insurer (Momentum) conducted a technical assessment to assess the cause of the shattered sunroof which they deemed it was a factory fault from VW and this was a warrant claim. The assessment was conducted by qualified and accredited assessors. After numerous back and forth with VW, they concluded that the shattered sunroof was due to impact damage even though come not prove of what object and when was the initial impact.

I have to bear the cost for the repairs which amounted over R31000.00 just to repair the sunroof and get the car back since I had been left stranded without a vehicle for almost a month.

A few days ago, I collected the car back from VW, There is another factory fault with the vehicle the Start and stop system is not working and it has never worked since I bought the vehicle, since this was pointed out by a friend who was travelling with and has the same VW series. This is a brand new vehicle with not more than 15 days in my possess but factory faults keep on persisting, it is clear that this vehicle did not go through necessary quality checks.

I have reported this matter again to VW but they have chosen to ignore my incident report.
