Esau Magane - VW Soweto.
I bought a brand new 2019 Vw Polo vivo 1.4 comfortline 5dr last year end of June. I took my car for a service twice already getting great service at VW Fourways. During lockdown I parked my car for two weeks without using it, then on the 19th of June I tried to start my car and only to find out the battery was dead. I took out my manual to see what can be the problem, it stated that it can be a a flat battery. It also gave instructions on how to boost it with another car. I tried to boost but it was still flat, I changed another battery and the car started. On saturday the 20th I drove the car and it gave me the battery symbol on the odometer and the other battery died.
On monday the 22nd I called VW assist, they sent a technician to boost my car, I told him the story and he said it's best he call a tow truck to tow it to VW Soweto. They towed my car. On tuesday the 23rd I received a call from Esau Magane who happened to be my service advisor or consultant, he told me my car needs a battery replacement, I told him the story and he kept on insisting. He then told me that he'll ask the guys from the workshop. Esau gave me a call on Wednesday the 24th to tell me that the fuse on top of the battery blew, I asked him how long is it going to take to get the fixed because I need transport, my wife is 7 months pregnant and we need to get to Life Brenthurst for our gynecologist visits. He told that it can take up to three days, I then asked about courtesy car and he said courtesy cars are for people with warranty, I asked him if my car doesn't have a warranty, he said warranty cannot fix my car because of the battery terminals. I was defeated and I asked him to keep me updated and he agreed.
I waited the for his call since the 24th until I decided to call him today the 2nd of July to follow up on my car. He told me I said I will contact him which is what I didn't say. I am very angry and ****ed with the service I got from VW Soweto especially Esau Magane. Now I'll have to take the car and fixed it myself. I work for a financial institution as a financial advisor and what Esau did is unacceptable.
