Endless problems with golf 7 gti

To Whom It May Concern,

It is with great disappointment that I bring to your attention, the recent events regarding the 2015 Tungsten Silver Golf 7 Gti purchased from Weiss Volkswagen Amanzimtoti on 10 April 2015.

Within the first 2 months of purchase, the vehicle was booked in at Weiss Volkswagen Amanzimtoti to source the issue with regards to the poor braking occurring at moderate to low speeds travelled. Volkswagen refused to replace the defected brake pads and discs however, the front brake pads and brake discs were replaced at my own cost , as there was an evident flaw in the brake pad which resulted in uneven scoring on the brake discs.

The second booking at Weiss Volkswagen Amanzimtoti was due to an unusual ‘knocking sound’, resonating from the rear suspension. Weiss Volkswagen Amanzimtoti proceeded with diagnostics and fault finding regarding the shocks and suspension. All 4 shocks were replaced as it was noticed that there was minimum to zero percentage lifespan remaining since 4 months of purchase. However, the ‘knocking sound’ still persists to the current day.

The vehicle is currently booked at Volkswagen Ballito for erratic oil consumption for the third time in the past 4 months. For the first booking at Ballito Volkswagen, the oil was topped up to clear the fault displayed on the Dashboard Display. However, the Oil Level Low light came up a month later and the vehicle was booked in for the second time at Ballito Volkswagen. It was also noticed that there was an evident cloud of black emissions when the vehicle reached a specific rev. It was then recommended after various testing and diagnostics that the vehicle should cover a 1000km after which the vehicle should be brought in for further testing. The vehicle barely covered the recommended 1000km in approximately two weeks, when the Oil Level Low light came on again. As a result, the vehicle is currently being assessed at Ballito Volkswagen.

In the course of the 2 year ownership, I have received excellent service from Brandon Govender, from the servicing department in Weiss Volkswagen Amanzimtoti as well as the current Ballito Volkswagen. Brandon always showed brilliant hospitality, as it was understood that the recurring unfortunate incidents with the vehicle purchased has caused considerable inconvenience with regards to my daily routine.

There is consideration with regards to purchasing the new 2017 Golf 7 GTi, however with the frequent distasteful dilemma with the 2015 Tungten Sliver Golf 7 Gti that I currently own, there is no room for me to provide an acceptable recommendation. I refuse to make any further purchases due to the unpleasant service from Volkswagen South Africa, as there were no solutions besides fixing the current vehicle, which resulted in persistent drama. It’s sad to know that these are the cars being produced and in the past two years my GOLF 7 GTI has spent more time at Volkswagen garage than with me.

It’s quite disappointing that I’ve never received a call or an email regarding these issues from Volkswagen South Africa
