Dismal Service from VWSA
In February 2017 I ordered an Amarok V6 Extreme, and paid a deposit, before the official pricing was even available. The dealer ordered the car and we have a printout indicating the week of construction and arrival in July. Now I understand that delays happen, but this is ridiculous ! The original order "disappeared" and after numerous complaints to VWSA a vehicle was specially allocated and would arrive August. This also never materialized and eventually our current dealer of choice in Springs could source a vehicle at exactly the same time as this allocated car in September - AFTER a price increase which the stakeholders at VW just say - well sorry, you will pay, we are not interested in the fact that we messed you around and cost you more money or additional losses in the trade-in value of your current Amarok. This is truly pathetic considering they claim to be so good with customer service ! We have been loyal supporters of VW/Audi over the last two decades with 2 x Passat, 2 x A4, Jetta, Caravelle, 3 x Amarok and a Q5. But this obviously means nothing to this company and the New Nissan Navara and Mercedes-Benz X-Class are really looking like good alternatives at this point in time. No one except the poor customer call centre agent, who has no authority to make decisions, will talk to you - and I just keep losing money on my current car, while VW sits with my deposit and can't/won't assist. So my advice is - if you are looking for a V6 Diesel Double-Cab - wait for Nissan to launch theirs or even better the Merc (both I am sure would be delighted to get new clients and make a sale of a R750k + vehicle !)
