Complaint about the dealership
My vw polo 1.0 that I bought brand new in 2019 is giving me problems and vw dealers don't want to take responsibility. They want me to pay extra to fix factory fault the car has. Same year I bought it it cracked a speedometer screen and I took it to VW in Uitenhage and I was given attitude that I broke it deliberately and I must fix it. The following year it had it had a funny noise as if it's coming from the tyres as I was driving it and I was reassured there's nothing wrong with it. Later on few months down the noise got worse and I took it in again and they fixed something from the gearbox. 2021 around May in East London they had to change lutch because the gears were skipping as I was driving the car. I was informed that all 2018 and 2019 have the same problem hence they quickly released 2020 model to fix the factory fault. It was hardly 4 months after changing the clutch the car got stuck in the middle of the road at midnight on the 26th Dec 2021. I had to be towed by my brother to the dealership in East London. It took them 5 days to order and replaced the gearbox and I was not mobile. I was told there's no courtesy car on all these attempts. 2021 mid, the aircon of the car started not working and when I reported that too I was informed I have to replace something that cost around R10k. I have been fighting with the 2 dealerships and been reporting all these faults ever since they started to VW South Africa but I was never assisted in any way.
