Clutch burning smell with New Polo1.0 TSI
I've been a loyal client for 6 years counting having owned two VW cars consecutively the latest being the Polo 1.0 TSI model (picture attached)I bought my latest car (brand new) on the 29 August 2018 and by December 2018 I started experiencing problems. My first communication with VW Barons Bellville Cape Town was on the 9 February 2019. Again the car persisted with the problem. I had to bring it in for the fourth time. With no satisfaction from VW Barons Bellville,I had to escalate it to VWSA on the 3 June 2019.
Even when it came back I had to get myself used to the idea of driving the car in the condition it came back with, not being fully satisfied still with the condition as I was informed by the branch that according to them they have fixed and sorted all the problems. The whole experience was very toxic for my health and frustrating as a result I decided to stop pursuing this matter and keep the car.
The past weekend 21 August 2021 I started experiencing a problem driving, like a clutch burning smell coming from the bonnet. I immediately contacted VW King Williams Town Branch ( Eastern Cape) since I'm back home visiting my family for a few days. I was informed not to drive it the whole week, but only when I bring it in for diagnosis for the 26 August 2021 at 7:30am. I was against the idea, not comfortable to still drive it to KWT Branch, a 10 Kilometers drive, than for the VW guys to rather tow it away.
As per the appointment I woke up and drove the car to the KWT Branch for my 7:30am appointment. The staff proceeded with the normal checkup and procedure in checking it in, having also confirmed the smell on the car. As I was leaving the premises with my sister back home, the Principal Dealership called me Not even greeting me, the rudeness he showed was unspeakable. He was shouting at me on my face, in front of the clients and his staff. It was so embarrassing.
I tried to explain the whole story to him but he was not interested as he even had the guts to tell me it's my driving that has caused the problem. I also informed him I need help with the car as I need to be back in Cape Town going back to work on Monday 30 August 2021. Through his disgusting stinking attitude he told me I should drive the car to Cape Town and his no longer taking the car in as they will not be assisting me any longer with out doing a diagnosis.
I escalated the matter to Volkswagen my car was booked for Monday, 30 August 2021. 2 hours later, I received a call from VWSA informing me that I must not take my car to VW King Williams Town as she was told by VW in King Williams Town that the car is fine I can drive to Cape Town without even checking it and I must not rest my feet on the clutch ,undermining my driving because they don’t want to take the blame?
What a waste of money buying brand new car and expriencing all these problem??
Imagine risking my life driving to Cape Town with this car, clearly they want me dead???
