Bad treatment i received from VW SOUTH AFRICA and NTT East London
On the 25th May 2022 I called VW road assistance because of the funny noise that my car was making and after that it got stuck. They sent a tow truck and my car was towed and sent to NTT East London on the next day. They (NTT) checked the car and i was told that there was nothing wrong with car and they have checked the battery and the machines reported that the battery was ok. I got the car back on the 27th May 2022. While the car was with them I did not even got a courtesy car even though I told them I am using the car for work purposes as I am servicing the whole Eastern Cape Province. The car made the same noise on the 12 June 2022 and I took the car back to NTT East London and they took the car for few hours to check the battery again but told again that their machines are saying the battery is good.
On the 16th June 2022 in the evening I got stuck again and the car could not start. I called the VW road assistance and my car was towed away again and they also organized a transport to take me home and that was good. NTT East London received my car, I was told on the 17th June 2022 and they performed the same procedure to check the battery using their machines. I requested a courtesy car and only to be told that they do not provide courtesy cars. I explained to them that I need to go to work in Port Elizabeth for the week and I was not assisted. I had to take a public transport from East London to Port Elizabeth with everything I had including the Departmental training material and that was a bad experience for me. In Port Elizabeth I had to organize transport for the whole week to and from the training venue. On Friday evening the 24th June 2022, my adviser at NTT East London called me to check my whereabouts so that 8 can get my car as they charged the battery and the machines said good battery. I told her that I was still on the way from Port Elizabeth as I was using public transport. I have asked her to take my car to my place as I need to 7se the car on Sunday the 26th June 2022 to go to Mthatha and said she is unable to assist me with that rather come to the dealership on Saturday morning at 10H00 to meet with her there to get my car. On Saturday I was there at the dealership and she was nowhere to be found, I did not get my car. On Sunday the 26th June 2022 I had to take a taxi again to Mthatha to work, bear in mind that I am paying heavily for the car and now I have to use public transport. NTT East London did not even bothered to call me from the 27th June 2022 to update me about my car until I decided to go there physically on Thursday the 30th June 2022 after I came back from Mthatha. When o got there I requested to talk to the workshop manager and I met him. When I told the manager the whole story he was shocked to hear tha and apologized to me for all what happened and promised to deal with the lady who was assisting me. He even gave me his personal cell number so that I can contact him directly when I need assistance and I appreciated that. I was then told the same story about the results of their machines that the battery is good and was given the car keys so that I can take my car home.
When I got into my car , I found my car with a big crack in the windscreen and reported it immediately to the lady who is my adviser there. She immediately looked at the photos that she took when they received my car from the tow company on the 17th June 2022 and confirmed that there was no crack on the car when they received it and reported that to her manager. I was then told that I should go to my insurance for the windscreen repairs and NTT East London will pay the access fee.
I never felt so ill treated like this before, VW SA and NTT East London just did not care at all. What I was told at NTT East London is that they can not request from VWSA to give me a new battery until the machines say so. On Saturday the 2nd July I struggled to start my car and I decided to take it to the battery center to get the second opinion. When I got there, vthe battery was tested and indicated red, meaning that the battery is dying and while they were testing it showed that the voltage was low. I took photos of the battery results and the video and sent to the workshop manager through what's up and he responded. The gentleman is very professional and caring and there are really few people like him and appreciate that. Unfortunately the battery center could not print the results as their printing machine is faulty.
I am now left with frustration by VWSA, not even able to go to the nearby shops as I am scared that I am going to be stuck again. No help at all from VW only more challenges and problems. If I was not a ***ard I would kill myself than to continue experiencing this. Imagine now instead of getting helped, I have to replace the windscreen of my car, use the public transport when I need to use a car because VW is just not prepared to assist me. I even feel like asking them to take my car for good and so whatever they want to do with it while I am still paying for it because it is clear that they will never assist me but just keep on accepting my installment every month.
