Bad service from Volkswagen South Africa in repairing clutch and gearbox

I drive a Volkswagen Jetta. The clutch broke and I took it to Volkswagen Wonderboom to repair. They refused to debate whether the cost of replacing the clutch was covered by my 5 year maintenance plan. They phoned me to say the clutch was replaced but that I have to take it to Volkswagen Menlyn to repace something in the gearbox. Was forced to pay R21000 for a new clutch. Took the car to Volkswagen Menlyn for the gearbox problem. The next day Volkswagen Menlyn phoned me to tell me that they have only two persons who does that type of work. As one of them was going on leave it would take two weeks before they would start working on the car. The branch manager of Volkkswagen Menlyn informed me that a broken clutch should be assessed individually on a case by case basis. It is not the policy of Volkswagen South Africa to automatically classify a broken clutch as a weae and tear item not covered by the maintenance plan. I am 49 years old and have driven 4 different cars without any clutch problems. My new car only has 35000 on the odometer. I was forced to reant a car from Avis since they refused to provide me with a courtesy car. I am still without my car. If I phone the person responsible for my car at Volkswagen Menlyn, his cell goes directly to voicemail. I tkink this is an example of bad service and people should take note before buying a Volkswagen vehicle. Also the customer care line of Volkswagen South Africa has not been able to be of any assistance regarding this matter.
