Bad service experience SOUTH COAST VOLKSWAGEN

SOUTH COAST VOLKSWAGEN BAD SERVICE

(My car overheating immediately after service)

On the 16th of September 2024 my car was booked in for service of 180 000km at South Coast VW. On arrival I had reported on the hooter that's not working and asked them to diagnose it and left. During the diagnosis I received a call from them informing that the V-belt needed to be replaced and quoted the amount I'd have to pay for that. I gave them a go ahead to replace it.

After the service was completed I went back to get my car . I was given a report on the work that has been carried out and things that needed to be fixed however non of them was urgent. They reported on the hooter that needed the slip ring and needed to rebook as it was out of stock, washer system not working ,stabilizer links and sun roof blind jammed and linings.

Nothing to do with radiator and the pipes was reported to me.

Same day just after 17h00 after taking my card from them as I was getting ready to drive back home but still idling. I started seeing that there's smoke coming from the bonnet and it was overheating. All the coolant and water that was in got drained out. I then opened the bonnet and saw two separate pipes loosened. I couldn't drive the car ,had to book into a hotel to sleep and wait for VW to open the following day. I had taken a video of my car overheating

On the 17.09.2024 in the morning I called South Coast VW and reported on the matter , they asked me to drive the car to them so they can check the fault of which I refused to drive it in that state then they sent their technician Prof who arrived after 12h00pm.

When he got to the car ,refilled the coolant and tightened the lose pipe and said they could have been lossened while he was busy changing the filters carrying out the service. He refilled the coolant and said I can take with me the remaining in the bottle and refill again on the way if I experience any more challenges because it could take him the whole day to wait and see what happens next.

I drove my car back to Mthatha .

On the 24.09.2024 in the evening I had just arrived from work and the car was on while offloading my bags. I heard a sound of explosion outside and my car was overheating again. On the 25.09.2024 I called South Coast VW again to report on it and the technician Pro got very defensive this time telling me that the service he conducted had nothing to do with the radiator, I asked to speak to the manager as I didn't understand what could have triggered my car to overheat immediately after they have serviced it.

The manager Anelize Ohlsson couldn't be of any help either as she first suggested that I drive it to the nearest VW to have it checked. She then contacted Mthatha VW and asked them to diagnose and report back but still I was expected to take it there myself . VW Mthatha advised that it's too risky for me to even try driving it . Upon many times of calling and requesting feedback on the way forward from South coast VW they then organized a tow truck to tow the car to the nearest vw. I was then told that the cause to my car overheating is due to the after market pipes that are on it and that was the end. Also they expect me to pay for the tow truck and fix my car from my own pocket.

I still haven't got clarity on what triggered the so called "after market pipes " immediately after they have worked on my car and why wasn't it on the report and reported to me on the day that I needed to change them. I've never had issues with overheating before. I still have the report they printed for and none of these were a part of it.
