BAd customer service, not taking responsibility
I bought a VW Golf TSI DSG, few months after i bought it, there was a gearbox failure, which VW replaced, soon after the gearbox replacement, i started feeling the car shuddering and reported it, VW said it was nothing. The car eventually went out of warranty. I took the car in again for the same shuddering and i was told it was the clutch that was the problem, and i needed to pay for it. I took the problem to VW SA and i was told that their technicians will not make a mistake. After fighting, VW paid for some cost to replace the clutch.
After fixing the clutch, there was other sounds that i reported, and i was told the sounds was break discs that need replacing, which was never changed. few weeks later, the car started smoking and i asked them to check it, together with the other sounds i reported last time because i did not believe it was break discs. the second time they said the smoking and the sounds are engine related, so no longer break discs, yet VW declined my request saying that their technicians cannot make a mistake, which we can now prove they can. a while back, they diagnosed shock mounts as problematic, and after replacing them, the problem was not fixed, turns out the problem was control arms that needed greasing
Now that the car is smoking i'm told they need to strip it to check what the problem is, and i need to pay like R12 000 out of my own pocket, not even to fix. The car is using up a lot of oil in a month, and i had reported this way before it went out of warranty, they say they cannot find anything.
im off fthe view that VW will tell u there is nothing wrong with ur car just so it can expire. as soon as its out of warranty, they now tell u what the problem is, so they wont have to pay. I have had it with VW for not taking responsibility. One of the technicians at VW told me that the smoking is a common problem with these vehicles and those type of Engines, so no if it is a common problem, why is VW not owning up. I have read numerous articles of the same issues i had with this car, and VW is not assisting in anyway, are they telling us to stop buying VW's, are they telling us that they themselves don't have faith in their own cars?
