Appalling post sale and vehicle service and alignment
What a disgusting experience with Barons Cape Town/Culemborg. Time line rewind: I purchased a polo tsi 2019 model in January 2019 with mileage of 5K and ever since I have been experiencing problems with not only the car but the dealership as well. On the 07.07.2019 I took my car for its first service and was asked if I would like a wheel alignment to be done, I said yes, paid for the alignment and thus started a never-ending problem which is currently still unresolved and escalated to VW South Africa. I took my car back on the 15.07.2019 as the car veers to the left each time I am on a completely straight and levelled road. They then did another wheel alignment out of their pocket and lo and behold the same issue re-surfaced on the 26.11.20119 and back I went to the dealership and again they did another wheel alignment out of their pocket. And yet again I went back on the 31.12.2019 and guess what. Another wheel alignment. This after I spoke to several managers who just dismissed my request for a full diagnostic to be done. I then escalated this matter to VW South Africa who advised me to take my car to an independent tyre establishment at my own cost who then within 5 minutes picked up that the steering rack is faulty. What the hell, why am I paying for a diagnostic to be done when VW carries a warranty – does the CEO of VW know this is being done to their clients? A dealership could not establish this, selling countless cars to unsuspecting clients and then not assisting when a client comes back with a car which is under warranty?? I am fed up and will be going to the ombud to lodge a formal complaint against Barons and VW. Regards ****ed customer!!!
