Appalling lack of care for customers car

I booked my car in at VW Barons Bruma on the 5 June 2016, as the rear left indicator light had stopped working ( i checked the globe as well as the fuse at home and could not find any fault. When I took the car to Barons on Saturday 27 May they refused to look at the indicator and said it had to be booked in).

I dropped my car off and requested the pick up service after work in order for me to collect my car. They informed me that I will be picked up at 3:30pm however only showed up after 4pm. When I collected my car from the dealership, I was informed that there was no problem with the globe or the fuse, and it had merely been dirt that got into indicator which prevented it from turning on. For this, I had to pay R900. This was no issue .

When I inspected the car I found that the paint work on the bonnet had come off. There were large, disgusting greasy fingerprint marks all over the driver seat leather. The window switch to operate the front passenger window was not working and the lever to move the driver seat in order to access the rear passenger seat had become quite loose and did not click.

I was very angry and appalled at the manner in which my car had been handled as I am very particular about my car and take excellent care of it. I do not touch my car with soiled hands, nor do I eat in the car. My car had been in an excellent condition prior to taking it in and the very people who should respect and take care of it had neglected to do so.

i informed my service manager Bridget of all these issues however she was unperturbed and explained that they did not damage the car nor the seats or the window switch . After showing her the inspection sheet when dropping off the car she finally conceded that the paintwork was their fault however would not be held accountable for the other issues. she then informed me that she will arrange for the car to go in to a VW approved panel beater for the front bumper to be resprayed.

The he next day at 10 am I had not yet received any call from Bridget who promised to keep in touch. I had to call her and query the progress with regards to when my car would be sent to the panel beater. She then called back and informed me that she was looking into it.

I did did not receive any follow up call from her after that phone call. I called the dealership to speak to her on Thursday the 8 June as well as Friday 9 June and she was unavailable so I left a message for her to call me back. My husband also tried unsuccessfully to reach Bridget.

Iam extremely disappointed in the service and the utter lack of respect they have demonstrated towards my car. The service at this dealership is appalling and they do not care about the customer. I will not let this matter rest and will be escalating my query.
