Amarok touchscreen
I took my Amarok to BaronsN1 City for a problem with the touchscreen. The top right hand corner of the screen does not respond anymore. I booked the vehicle in for them to do a software upgrade in hope that it will solve the problem. When I picked up the vehicle I was informed that the software upgrade did not work and I would have to replace the whole radio/GPS unit. They gave me a quote of R43000 to replace the unit.
I told them this was ridiculous as it is only the touch screen that is the problem. I was informed that they do not do any repairs on the unit. My vehicle is only 4 years old. While my vehicle was there there happened to be another vehicle in with a touch screen problem as well.
Why is Volkswagen not looking after me as a client by expecting me to purchase a complete new unit at great cost when only the touchscreen needs replacing.
