3 year old Jetta with oil issues

My 2012 Jetta's oil light came on less than 2 months out of warranty on 58 000 km. It was evident that the vehicle must have started to use oil within the warranty period but only became evident just outside the warranty period because of the slow rate at which the oil was being consumed. I spoke to the Dealer Principle at Bellville who contacted the National Manager and they said they would show me some \goodwill"as they can see that I looked after my car"
