2015 POLO GTI ISSUES

A little more than a month ago I was very happy with VW and their service... until one small problem surfaced and after that quite a big problem.

My car has less than 60 000km on the clock. First I had to replace the gear selector pin under a goodwill warranty but I still had to cover the labour... after asking fellow 2015 Polo GTI owners if they had the same problem 3 confirmed that they too had to replace the pin. I later found out that this is a “common” issue with this particular model, so in my eyes it should have been a recall for all models and the replacement should’ve been FOC labour included.

Secondly... and this is a VERY big R25 000 issue, my Infotainment unit is broken, yes you read it BROKEN one would think after paying quite a substantial amount of money for a car that surely this WOULDN’T happen. I’ve had to turn my center console screen off as it turns on an off every time the infotainment unit resets which is EVERY TWO AND A HALF MINUTES. I can’t use my USB port to charge my phone, I can’t use the Bluetooth and I can’t access my car’s data on the main screen. VW refuses to do a good will warranty as it’s not “essential to the running of the car”.

This is very upsetting, my car is not functioning as it should be and I feel like I am not getting value for the amount of money I spent.

I love the brand and I love the car. I’ve owned another two VW’s prior to this one, but this issue is making me doubt my loyalty towards the brand.
