Frustrated Vodacom Customer !!!

I'm not the type of person who would normally do something like this, But enough is enough

A few months ago I experienced problems with my Huawei P8 lite. Whenever I tried to connect to WiFi it wouldn't. I tried everything even a factory reset, but it did not work. I done some research and discovered that it is a common hardware problem and not a software problem. Seeing that my phone was under a vodacom 2 year contract warranty I decided to take my phone into the Vodacom shop in paarl mall where I opend the contract. There my problem gets worse!

Whilst explain to the consultant Mr Rhowan Holmes, I noticed that he had an arrogant attitude, I noticed him taking out my sim card without switching off my phone and according to my knowledge doing so can cause damage to the phone. Mr Rhowan then told me there is light scratches on the back of my phone which I couldn't see. We had a disagreement about the scratches and i left it at that cos I just wanted to get the phone sorted as I NEED my phone for the job I do. He told me "dit is asof jy met a panel beater will stry want ek doen al die *** vir jaaaare".

He took the phone from me and without placing it in bubble wrap to protect it he headed to the back of the store. This is usually done infront of the customer to ensure and show the client that the device is now protected. I was no longer in possession of the phone and I left the store.

Two days later I received a call from Mr Rhowan, he asked me if the phone was BENT when I booked it in. I was soo shocked! My phone had a WiFi problem and it wasn't bent. I asked Rhowan how this could happen and he said it might have been the courier cos to his knowledge the gone wasn't bent but he would get back to me on the issue, he never did. So I decided to go back to Paarl mall vodacom shop to find out what's going on. I then spoke to another consultant Mrs Michelle Germishuys. She phoned Vodacom repair centre tygervally to enquire about my handset booked on job number ********** 1. To my surprise the phone now had liquid damage and there was no mention about it being bent. At this point in time the unit was already sent to the advanced repair centre in Johannesburg. Mrs Michelle contact the advanced repair centre and they also told her it was liquid damage. I was upset because my phone never near water/ liquid as I am very carefully when it come to my phone and liquid. Michelle explains the term to me and says that it might also be that the sweat whilst in my pocket and that led to liquid damage on the wetness indicator, this is why they classifying it as liquid damage. This is a first for me after carrying my phone in this manner since I can remember.

Michelle requestrian photos from the advanced technical repair centre in JHB to show the area where liquid damage accrued but up until today still no picture received. I received a quote of R1994,00 for the damages that was on the phone but I could not accept or reject the quote cause I couldn't understand where where all these damages came from. I feel I couldn't pay for someone else's negligance/mistakes. The quote was rejected automatically because I didn't reply to the request.

On the 31st January 2017, I received a sms stating that my phone is at paarl mall Vodacom shop, ready for collection. I went to collect it on February 1st 2017. When I saw the phone, I saw that it was in fact bent. I don't remember the phone being in that state. Other than the phone being bent I can't see any other physical damage. So how is this possible? The unit returned with out as much as an engineers report, which they would have provided. I told Michelle I cannot accept my phone in that state. I asked her what will happen to the phone, she said it would probably be sent back to their head office where it will stay. I am currently paying a contract which I don't have a pond to show for. VODACOM IS VERY HAPPY, the account is being paid so there no issues. I don't have phone! Can I refuse to pay? WHAT DO I DO? Any advise please!

Thanks in advance
