I was very happy as all went fast and smooth and I posted a very positive review about Vodacom's service. However, this morning I looked at my online profile anmd saw that suddenly I have two contracts. The one that I upgraded and another number 06....83. On clicking on details for this number I saw that it contained the details as per the upgrade. Then I saw:

Device and SIM You do not own this number and can only view certain information. Please link the number to your profile in order to view all the information.

This was of concern. I phoned Vodacom. The lady told me that I requested a second contract! I told her I did an upgrade. Even read the sms messages. She could not help and I was put through to another division. The gentleman there did not really want to listen and seems (like the lady) to insinuate that "ordered" a new contract. I was then put through to a third person. Spoke at length to Tyrese. I must commend himas he knew he was dealing with an upset client and managed to salvage the situation without blaming me. The long and short is this new phone I got delivered last week must be returned to Vodacom. He confirmed the 06....83 is cancelled. He confirmed an upgrade - which now is costing me some R200,00 more than the original upgrade I wanted! An upgrade that someone at Vodacom messed up to reflect as a new contract. I will then get another new phone. So will have to go through the whole exercise again of reinstalling apps and passwords.

I will never ever order anything online again with Vodacom and warn people to be extremely careful when doing online business with Vodacom. People make mistakes and data does go funny. However, do not blame a customer for mistakes you made.

It simply would have been faster and easier to have gone to a shop for them to upgrade my contract.
