Wrongfully Rejected Laptop Claim

I am submitting this escalation and complaint regarding my rejected laptop claim. I was sincere enough to narrate the incident surrounding the loss of my laptop that was misplaced on Tuesday the 31st of May 2022.

My claim was rejected based on the fact that I mentioned that my wife was holding the laptop for me temporally while I have my haircut. I can confirm to you that the laptop got misplaced after my wife handed it over to me.

I have statements from my wife and another witness confirming that I Edward Tugbiyele had the laptop in my possession before I left the salon and with these two witnesses statements, I strongly believe that my claim should be approved without any further delay.

I urge you to look into this without any further delay as I use my laptop for work and I have been handicapped since the loss. This is already costing a lot financial loss.

My claim for an Apple MacBook was approved by Finrite but unfortunately Vodacom does not supply this product anymore.
I explained to Finrite that since I am able to get this product from the iStore, they should credit iStore the covered amount less the 15% excess payable so that iStore can supply me the laptop.
Finrite is suggesting that I first purchase the laptop with my own money, send them the proof of purchase for them to later credit my bank account with the covered amount less the 15% excess payable.
One of the main reasons I chose to insure my laptop is so that I would not have to start looking for cash to replace it in the case of loss or damage. This laptop costs R24,999 and I do not have such an amount of money sitting anywhere. I don’t think I would have insured my device in the first place if I can easily cough R24,999.
I have been with Vodacom for over 8 years and have three contracts with Vodacom and I do not think Finrite should even suggest this because I don't think it would make a difference to Finrite if they credit iStore.
I use my laptop for work and not having it now is really costing me a lot.
Kindly please use your good office in resolving this issue.
