Wrongfull Data and Router Issuing of contract to client

Brief description of complaint In 2019 December I was selected as one of the customers to be offered a modern and data contract by Vodacom, however, Homemark was the company selling Vodacom contracts. I was issued the contract by a homemaker consultant in April 2020. The agreement I had before the contract was issued was; “I only needed the data to use on my cell phone”. I indicated to the consultant on record that I am not willing to change my cell phone numbers and he agreed and advised that I have to go to a Vodacom store within 14 days to make a sim swap, however at the Vodacom store they advised they cannot make the sim swap.

I was left with a contract that was not of use to me. I lodged a complaint to Homemark to terminate the contract because it was not issued based on the agreed terms.

After my complaint the consultant and the sales manager terminated the monthly billing and not the contract with Vodacom and I was told that the contract has been terminated by Homemark. For a period of 4-5 months I was not aware that my account went on areas and this heavily dented my credit score.

I personally called Vodacom terminate the contract, they agreed and came to my place fetched the router that came with the contract. Vodacom refunded me back for all the months that I was not supposed to be billed, however, I am left with a dented credit score which blocks me from acquiring any type of credit financing; this has heavily put a stop in my personal progress for example, I work a job that demands a lot of travelling and it needs a car; I don’t qualify to buy a car anymore because of this Vodacom account has dented my credit score, Before I took the contract my credit score was clean. If need be, I will provide the evidence of my credit score trace.

Resolution sought Based on the above complaint description, Vodacom should take account in clearing my credit score with the credit institutions in South Africa. And again, compensate me as a client for the damage that They have caused.
