Wrongful and ******* billing for Vodafone Live and other content

I had a 24 month data contract with Vodacom with device included. I was due for a upgrade of device in January 2017. My account was normal at device plus 3 GB data contract at R299-00 rand per month. When the device was paid up I carried on with the data contract as normal. In April Vodacom started adding CONTENT SERVICES and VODAFONE LIVE which I did not give any consent or permission for. The sim card was not even in a phone but used in a router as a internet access for Absamail and banking sevice.

I went to my local Vodacom store in Meyerton on 8-6-2017 and lodged a complaint with Ref. No. 1- ********** ********** . They said it was “content”, I clicked on a message or opened a message to activate this content. The assistant at shop, Lindiwe went on to phone customer care and stopped so-called content. They said I must pay the data part of R169-24 which I did while they investigate the dispute. On Friday 9-6-2017I myself dialled *111# and selected “11” then “next” then “unsubscribe” and found I was subscribed to 4 new “content”, I continued to unsubscribe the content that I did not subscribe to, on Saturday 10-6-2017 I was subscribed once again to two more “content”. On Saturday 10-06-2017 I received a sms telling me the dispute was closed, I must contact WASPA at ********** 710 for further information and gave me a ref. No. ********** . In the meantime they are calling me about arrears on my account.

I also complained to department of trade and industry, they did not even investigate but only sent a copy of my complaint form to vodacom. Vodacom rep**** that there is a double click system in place where consumer must click and confirm for content to be activated. We all know that is a big farce since you do not know when content is activated untill you see your account.
