WRONG NON PAYMENT RECORD ON MY CREDIT RECORD AFTER EXPIRED CONTRACT WAS CANCELED IO
I had a cellphone contract with Vodacom between 2013 and 2014. I lost my phone and let the contract run until the expiry date. I then went to a Vodacom store between 2014/2015Sandton to cancel the contract and was given a form to fill that the Vodacom staff sent to the cancellation department. The contract was not canceled and when I went back to the store I was given a phone number for the Vodacom cancellation department to cancel the contract. I was assured the contract will be canceled, but this din NOT happen. Vodacom continued debuting my Acc monthly which I did not notice as I do not check my bank statements. I phoned them again last year 2018 and was assured it will be canceled. I needed to apply for a home loan and decided to check my credit record only to find out that Vodacom has listed my a non payment record of more than 150 days. I phoned their legal team on Monday and the query was escalated to the supervisor and the call Centre agent promised to phone me back, which she did but I was busy consulting with a patient as I am in the health sector. I went to the Vodaworld store in Midrand yesterday and was told that they can not help me as it’s a holiday, I need to phone the Vodacom legal department. I phoned the legal team today and was told that the agent I spoke to was not available and a message will be left for her to phone me back. I told her that she should specify the time that she’ll be able to reach me as I work with patients and cannot answer the phone during consultations. The call Centre agent told me that it’s not possible to put in the time when I could be contacted on their system. I then asked to speak to the supervisor and was told she is not available and the procedure is to talk to the agent I spoke to on Monday. I then asked for the walk in legal Vodacom offices where I can get this resolved. I was then told there are no walk in offices. I want Vodacom to remove the non payment notice from my credit record as I canceled the contract a long time ago. They should actually be paying me all the money they have deducting from my account for the contract that I canceled. There should be a class action law suit from all the customers who have had their credit records *****ed by Vodacom’s inefficiency. There should be walk in offices to cancel contracts. There should be walk in offices for the legal department. There should be offices to deal with all customer queries and concerns.
