Wow, can it get worse?
Okay, my patience was tested now, I was asked to be patient, but this is now becoming a serious issue. I was informed that my account was in arrears and wanted to pay it last week via EFT. I could not load Vodacom as a beneficiary due to hyphens used in the reference numbers for Vodacom. I called in to enquire and got assistance. Unfortunately, I still could not get right and decided to attend to it this week. On 19 June 2023 my services were disconnected. I called to enquire how I can make alternative payment and to unlock the account. I was advised to load Vodacom as a beneficiary without using the hyphen, and it was successful. I made an immediate payment for all outstanding arrears. I was further advised to send proof of payment to *** which I did around 10:00. I was further told the services will take 2 to 3 hours to activate. Nothing happened. I called again around twice in the afternoon and the first time was told that no proof of payment was received. I was given an alternative email to see if she can assist and POP was again sent to ***. Still nothing happened. I called again and was assisted in some way but was again informed to wait another 2 to 3 hours for a total unlock. Nothing happened. I communicated on Twitter later and was told it will take 24 to 48 hours before the unblock will happen. It was only said “sorry for the miscommunication”. This is unacceptable. I need communication as I travel around rural areas and use my cell for GPS and communication purposes. How is it that Vodacom, a supposedly technology company cannot accept proof of payments or use other technology to make things easier for the client.
