Worst service I have every had in my life!
Worst service I have ever had in my life! I had SIM only data contract for my laptop ****le at R299pcm if I remember correctly. The contract ends and the pcm cost almost doubles! No notification, warning or contact to let me know. So upon seeing the bill I call them to cancel. It is an automated system. I put in the number I am trying to cancel as requested. It tells me it will be processed and I assume cancelled as requested, but no. They try to call me back on a data only sim instead of my main account number. I email customer care to ask for help. They can't help. and direct me to the cancellation department number, the automated system, and so I go around in circles. Eventually customer care say I should go into the store. I get to the store and the guy tells me he can't help me I need to call the cancellation number. Aaaaarrgh ***. Customer Care should be able to sort it for me! I tell him they are trying to call my data sim in my ****le. Ah well we could put that sim in a spare phone for you ...but I need to wait in store for them to call me back on the spare phone which could be who knows when? Yes. Why is it soooo hard to cancel a simple contract.
1. Vodacom pls empower your customer care team to provide customer care! 2. Make it easier for customers to transact with you i.e. Take a customer centric view to your process design. Look at typical customer transactions with you and walk through those process as if you were a customer and you will see very quickly where it is a mess!
As I type I am still not 100% sure if it has or has not been cancelled. I am very close to cancelling all my business and my families business with out of principle.
As I advised, I urge you to look at your key points of customer interaction and the related processes those customers go through, and to do so from a customer perspective. Failings in these processes are causing massive frustration and contention in your customer base, and with that significant brand damage.
Yours sincerely,
Rory Young
