Worst service I have ever received.

About a year ago I got in contact with Vodacom about poor signal in the area i was staying in.
They said they would get a technician to look at it. That was the last i heard of it.

About 2 months later i called Vodacom back just to be told that they still have no eta on it.

After waiting about 9 months, struggling with poor service i called back and was told that i was not given a proper reference number for it and that they had nothing for signal there. That they were dealing with whoever to get a signal pole (lamp) to broadcast better signal. This could of been told to me from the beginning to avoid all of this that has happened from there onwards. This is strike number one, not providing services which i have paid for. Meanwhile you have advert on air saying that you have great signal iin middle of nowhere, referring to the one when the pastor could not make the wedding.

I was then offered to either get a discount on my bill every month, or as vodacom says "as a favor which vodacom does not do we will cancel your contract do everything for you. All you will need to do is cancel" Which is utter nonsense as this is what you always say. I refused and said give me my money back because you are charging me for services i am not receiving. I was then told because of the package i was on i could not be recompensated. Which i believe is another lie. I then decided that i would rather have my contract cancelled and moved over to prepaid and keep my phone because i have duly paid for it due to the services not rendered.

After not hearing back fromm anyone and hassling people i was eventually told it had been escalated, which is funny because i never received an sms that said it had. I eventually received a phone call saying that the contract would be cancelled and moved over to prepaid. This was after weeks of not being kept in the loop of what was happening, having my emails ignored. This is the level of service Vodacom provides.

MAY

I received another call asking when i would like my contract to be cancelled and moved to prepaid.

I told the lady that I would like it to be at the end of the month as I have just bought data and need to use it.

She suggested it as well. This is what was decided.

I then received what a mail asking what number i wanted to be cancelled as i had 2 vodacom number before but the one was not renewed last year. I sent a mail saying at the end of the month.
I also could not buy bundles from the app as well and was forced to use normal data rates.
I then received another phone call asking for when i want my contract to be cancelled and what number.
I told the lady that i already received a phone call and spoke about this. To which she rep**** this does not show on the system, which is very surprising, because if it didn't happen i would not have received that mail asking for which number to be cancelled. Once again poor *********** service from Vodacom I also mentioned to her about the problem about not being able to buy data. She suggested getting hold of customer care which i did.
I submitted another query about the data and waited a few days, told it was being escalated. I eventually received an sms saying it would be escalated.

It was said that my contracted was migrated to prepaid but not complete cancellation?

The 26th of May i was sent a mail saying

"Thank you for your email.
I tried calling you on ********** 270, however the call routed to voice mail.
Your account is currently not in arrears. There is however a cancellation request from contract to prepaid that is preventing any extra purchases added to your line.
Please advise if you are aware of the cancellation request.

I rep**** saying
"I am aware that my contract is being cancelled and switched to prepaid.
This only happens next month. This still means my contract is running and I should be able to purchase data.
Also this was not mentioned to me buy anyone from vodacom.
Therefore I want this sorted out and I will take this to hello Peter.

This is absolute nonsense.
I will not be paying this month until it is sorted out.

Which i received a reply with
"Our records indicate that your cancellation is due to network not being available.
Please be advised that we are unable to allocate a bundle for you nor are you able to add one from your side as the contract is due for cancellation at month end."

Communication seems to be a problem.

June
I woke up receiving data and phone bundles.
I sent mail asking why no one told me why? This mail was sent on the 2nd of June If i am on prepaid i should not be able to receive data that i have not pre purchased / loaded. No one got back to me about that.
On the 3rd of June i sent a mail, "is anyone following up?"
On the 4th Of June I sent a mail saying

"The conversion did not happen. It still under contract...
I will not be able to purchase data again this month and no one came back to me about why i couldn't purchase data last month."

On the 6th June I opened another customer query Stating

"Good Day,
My contract was supposed to be cancelled and converted to prepaid this month which has not happened.

Also I have an outstanding issue that no one seems to be getting back to me, which seems that it will be repeated this month. I cannot buy data bundles for my phone and it has depleted.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on here.
This is by far the worst service i have ever received and coming from Vodacom i would expect more"

I received a mail saying

"Dear Quintin
Thank you for your email.
Please be advised that the line ********** 270 was been migrated over to prepaid account is currently on prepaid.
Kindly note that we are still waiting on feedback for the service request that was escalated to higher division."

I rep**** with
"

Good Day,

I understand that you say that it was moved over on to prepaid.
Could you please explain to me why at the beginning of the month i had data and was able to make phone calls.
If i was on prepaid i surely had no data or airtime to make phone calls.
I am able to login to the website and it says i have an outstanding balance of R1388.31
I am confused as to how this works?
I cannot get data transferred to me or anything of the sort so i cant really do much."

a

This was never solved...

I received a phone call from a gentleman from Vodacom asking what the issue was etc, After asking him why he is asking because it is in all the mails, He rudely rep**** "Do you want me to help you". Understand at this point i am frustrated and annoyed with Vodacom at the moment. He said that they would refund me for the data that i was forced to use in May because i could not buy data. I also told him about the issue where I was still receiving Data, call and sms bundles. He didnt have much to say. Also that i could not buy prepaid data from the app and *111#, he suggested that i go buy prepaid from a shop and load data. He also said that the migration takes a month and that is why I could not buy any data. He did not say anything about the issue of still receiving data.
I received sms's stating that "Your query with ref number 1- ********** 6943 has been closed."
"Your query with ref number 1- ********** 8774 has been closed."

I assumed that someone else would get back to me about the issue where i am still receiving data and call bundles, Which never happened.

My phone has now been soft locked but i am still able to use it. I logged on to the website and see I have a bill of R9601, Which I will not pay as you were aware of my issue, you did absolutely nothing and that I am no longer on contract. I am not liable for this amount. This could have been all sorted out if you just provided proper customer service.

Kind Regards,

Quintin Venter

I am at my wits end.

last month they did a credit note for my account because i am on prepaid.

I Spoke to the lady and asked what should i do, are they not going to resolve it?

She said i should just use the data and bundles it is a glitch on vodacoms side.

as of this morning i received a phone call from accounts and flipped out at the guy, because I have had enough of your poor service! We will be repeating the same process as last month.

It seems i am going to have to protect myself from vodacom.
