Worst service ever experienced

I have been with Vodacom for years and I have now just decided to port all my lines as they become due for upgrade. I can't deal with their incompetence and rude call centre agents that feel it's acceptable to drop the line once they get irritated.

I did an online upgrade in December 2016. I received the handset and not long after I received a second handset. I called Vodacom and asked them to please make sure that I won't be charged for two devices. They undertook to collect the second device and assured me my account will not reflect both charges.

Two months down the line I am still waiting for them to collect the device. I have been charged twice for online upgrade fees ( which I should not even be charged once since it was done online) and for two months in a row I have been charged for two devices (which is not even supposed to be possible - how can you receive two handsets on one line!?).

Numerous calls to the call centre followed and so did all of the empty promises. I had to explain this query to more than 20 people and verify my identity to all of them as well. I have sent emails upon emails and I even have names for some of the people that handled the query (or not).

Unfortunately, Vodacom does not like to have a paper trail of queries, so they do not respond to emails and if you call the call centre 20 times you will not be able to get through to the same people that attempted halfheartedly to help you on the previous occassions.

I dont see what is so difficult. The upgrade was obviously processed twice (which should not be possible as matter of controls) and I am being charged for two handsets. Vodacom would never have picked up on the fact that they lost a device had I not told them. Now that they are fully aware of the fact, they dont care enough to actually collect the device and sort out the query.

I can hardly wait to port all my numbers and I am actively advising everyone I know to do the same. Funny thing is, I dont even have to convince them, they have all experienced similar problems with Vodacom. It's sad that Vodacom simply does not care about their horrible service and terrible reputation.

I have lost all hope of solving the problem and if by close of day Vodacom has not arranged to collect the device from me I will be tossing it onto the highway.

Thanks

Reviewer Update

I received a call on the day of my complaint and up until now I havent had a reply since.

I am still sitting with the extra device and I'm still waiting for a refund.

The new bill will be messed up yet again because nothing is being done. This is just such a frustration and I can't wait to port all my numbers and be rid of Vodacom.
