WORST service!!

This morning was just the cherry on top!

I am so amazed by Vodacom's service (or lack thereof). I really am disappointed, because I moved to this cellular network thinking it was better than the others (in fact, the best) but it seems I was better off with my previous provider. I sincerely hope that the experience I have had is not the experience that most of your customers go through.

On the week of 27th June I took out a Vodacom contract with an agent (online). I must say he was very professional, willing and eager to help me and was very patient (as I had specific needs that I needed to be met by my contract). My package arrived on Friday, 1 July and this is where all the trouble started. Firstly, Vodacom did not provide the courier with my contact number so they were unable to contact me to deliver the package. How silly is this? Anyway, long story short I managed to sort it out on my side. After receiving and opening the package, I was realised that I had been sent the wrong sim card. I was sent a duo sim instead of a nano sim (whereas it clearly states the phone takes a nano sim). I called the call centre and waited and waited and waited on the line. My colleague also called the call centre and surprisingly had an agent attend to him while I was STILL on hold. How do you take your calls? Nonetheless, I then proceeded to speak to the consultant on my colleague's line, who assured me that the CORRECT sim card would be delivered in the next week.

On Monday, 4 July my package arrived again. Again it was a duo sim card and NOT a nano sim card like I requested. At this point you can imagine my frustration. My colleague's package had also arrived at the same time and he had been sent TWO nano sim cards. I asked the agent from the call centre if I could just take one of his and was told NO I now have to go and BUY my own. How inconvenient is this??

On Wednesday, 6 July after buying the sim card myself I then called to get it activated at around 16h30. The agent informed me that it had gone through and my new sim card would work within 5 hours. So I waited, and waited, and waited. Thursday 7 July I received a notification that my account had been debited by Vodacom, but my sim card had NOT even been activated yet! How eager they were to deduct money from my account when they had not even completed giving me the service! I called in AGAIN (these calls were now becoming frustrating) to be told by the agent that I had to wait for TWENTY - FOUR HOURS for the sim card to be active! WHAT??? After having been told to wait 5, now it has escalated to 24!!! I was assured that my sim card would be active at arounf 16h30 that afternoon, but again NOTHING!!!

I was now beyond frustrated and had to call in AGAIN! Just after 5pm I was assisted by a very friendly agent who told me she had done the activation and it would be activated now after 5 hours. So I waited, and finally it was activated, but NO airtime and NO data bundles had been loaded. By now the call centre was closed and I could not do anything about it. Friday, 8 July I called in at around 08:00 explaining my problem. I was told to switch my device off and take the sim card out, then wait 3 hours and put it back in. Then my airtime would be loaded. I was told the sim was so fully active. I followed the procedure and FIVE hours later still NOTHING!!

So I called the call centre again, and guess what: I was told I had reached my call centre limit for the month and I should call again next month! WHAT IN THE WORLD??? How can I have a limit to how much I call in if I have a problem that YOU have to fix??!!! By now I was really upset and was NOT happy AT ALL! I managed to reach the call centre through using someone else's vodacom line and from there I was transferred from my department to the next to the next. The calls kept cutting and I kept having to call in and repeat my story endlessly to different consultants. After much back and forth I was told the problem has been escalated and my issue would be resolved in a few hours. Obviously I was not happy and I shared this with the agent.

My airtime and data was finally loaded on Saturday, the 9th July. I mean really now? It had to take over a week for all of this to happen?? Really now?? But, it does not end there. This morning I woke up to an sms from my bank notifying me of a transcation - again Vodacom has debited my account. The same amount that was debited a week ago has again been debited. Why? Why Vodacom why??? Why are you causing so much headaches in my life? I can't even call the call centre to enquire about this, because I have reached my limit for the month. Well, I have also reached my tolerance and levels of patience now. FIX IT!!!!
