Worst customer support in Africa?

Worst of the worst in terms of service. I've been dealing with their call centre to try and get my internet working again.

Called 1st June. Had a long conversation in which the agent diagnosed a problem with the Vumatel box. Promised to follow up with a call from an engineer to arrange a time to come fix it. Nothing.

Spoke with another agent 8th June. She explained there was no record of my conversation from the previous week. She did the diagnostics again and found the same problem. Promised a call from a Vumatel engineer within 24 hours due to a Vumatel box fault. A Vumatel engineer will need to come to fix the box. Nothing.

Called 14th June. The agent I spoke said they were still waiting for Vumatel to respond to them. Promised to escalate it to a different department and provide an email update the same day (which didn't arrive). Still nothing.

Called 15th June. I explained to the agent what had happened in my previous calls and she said that her notes showed that there is a problem with the router, and the Vumatel box working fine. I asked for my case to be escalated to a manager.

The manager gave the usual lip service about how she would personally see to it that this would be fixed today, blah blah blah. She put me on a video call with another agent and her parting words were that she would definitely be calling me back today.

Unfortunately, the agent I was put on a video call with didn't have a clue what she was doing. She took a few screenshots of the router and the Vumatel box then asked ME to tell HER what the lights should look like when it is working because she wasn't fami**** with the equipment and she couldn't tell what was wrong! She ended the call by saying the I would get a call today as soon as she spoke with her manager. Nothing.

It's like Vodacom literally pull random people off the street each morning and let get them to work in their call centre and customer service. I know it's not malicious but it's ****wittedness of the highest order and Vodacom should hang their heads in shame that they think it is ok to treat their customers like this.

I work at home and so does my wife, who is a doctor who does all her consultations via Zoom. So, as you can imagine, internet is essential to us. As such, we've had to pay to have another provider supply wifi so we can keep working whilst until this debacle is resolved.

Vodacom - Please do something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
