WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!
<p>I upgraded online in August but the phone they sent me was faulty so I sent the phone back. I battled for more than a month to get a new phone. Eventually a helpful employee at Vodacom Beacon Bay helped me to get my upgrade cancelled and re-do it on the system. This was after I spent a month phoning the call centre every single day to query my new phone. They kept on passing my query from one person to the next. I literally spent HOURS each day on the phone to them. They cut me off most of the time too. To make matters even worse I was charged a R150 upgrade fee! Online upgrades are supposed to be free! Then to top it all off they charged me over R3000 for the phone I returned! I had to battle to get them to reverse that too. The last 2 months I'm being charged for 2 handsets! When I queried this I was told that because I upgraded before the 24 month contract was up that I had to pay for my old phone too. I have never ever heard of this before and I have been with Vodacom for more than 6 years. Best of all is that my 24 month contract expired on the 22nd of October so how can they still be charging me for 2 handsets?! I just got off the phone with their call centre now and was told the same story about upgrading before the end of the 24 months. So when I said that my contract expired last month she put the phone down in my ear!!! I am disgusted in the level of service I have received from them. They have caused me so much lost time at work, not to mention the stress. I wish I can go back and cancel my contract completely and go to a different service provider :(</p>

It has now been 6 months and I am still paying for 2 phones! This is despite Vodacom telling me that the problem has been sorted out once and for all. I have to phone them every single month and tell them to credit one handset fee and every month they assure me that the problem is now sorted and every new month comes and I'm billed for 2 handsets. I even reported them to ICASA but was told that it is outside of their jurisdiction to help me. Surely this is *******?! If I sign a contract for R299 a month how can it be legal that they debit my bank account with an extra R120 every month? And how can absolutely no one at Vodacom know how to fix this problem? Surely all you have to do is log onto the customers account and cancel the recurrring extra handset fee which is loaded on the system? Do I have to start a court case in order to get this sorted out?
