WORST CONTRACT PROVIDER, NOT TRUSTWORTHY, ********
In 2016, I took a data contract with Vodacom telephonically. They said I will be paying R200 p/m. This was not true because they added extra charges, which I was forced to pay for the next two years or pay them 70% of the outstanding fees. I complained to Vodacom and they did nothing about it, so I just kept the contract.
In 2018, I did not renew my contract, instead, I called Vodacom to cancel my subscription after my last debit order of the contract. To my surprise, the following month I got a statement saying that I owe Vodacom money for the month, after my contracted ended, and also after I called them 31days in advance to cancel my contract. I called Vodacom again, and they refused to assist me and said I had to pay the new outstanding amount before they can cancel my account. I ended up paying it and they guy who was helping me said everything was sorted.
Now 2020 June, everywhere I try to apply to open any account, they tell me I have an active Vodacom account active from Vodacom which I owe money that I do not know of. I called them once more to ask what the amount is for, and they told me it was for the same account I closed in 2018. The lady said it will be rectified and she will write off the amount. She said m name will be cleared in 31days. I asked for an email with our conversation, and I never received it. It has been 4 months since my conversation with her.
Today I get a call from a credit provider telling me that my Vodacom account is still active and I still do not understand why. It is the reason why all my applications are declined. Vodacom has been destroying my credit name for too long now and it is time something is done about it.
