Worst cellphone network provider in SA

2017 is going to be a good year purely for the fact that my top-up contract with Vodacom ends in June.

I'm not going to list all my complaints, because Vodacom is just not worth the effort. And mostly because I highly doubt anything can be done to change my mind (or every other Vodacom subscriber I know) about the company. I gave the one star unwillingly and most importantly I don't want any response from Vodacom. The last thing I want to do is communicate with the company unless I absolutely have to and when I can finally tell them (in words that I'm sure are not allowed on this site) that I do not plan to upgrade / renew my contract.

My husband is with Cell C and I've got only good things to say about them.

One issue I will mention is the cost and usage of data. I use twice as much data on the same sites and apps my husband uses for the whole day in an hour or two! Then to make matters worse, you more often than not don't get a warning sms that your data is running out. Cell C always sends an sms and always in time! So before I know it not only is my data finished, but also my airtime! I saved a balances details sms (a few actually) where my airtime disappeared when I had made no calls or sent any sms's and where the sms shows that I still had 5MB left. So where did my airtime go! It wasn't used for out of data bundle rates?! Same thing almost happened today had I net requested an sms with details of my balances! Once again my monthly data bundle (100MB) and my 7 day bundle (1GB) was finished and almost half of my monthly airtime gone, because like most of the time I didn't receive a warning sms! This is ****************! And if this isn't enough, I noticed yesterday that R2 is being deducted from my airtime everyday when I haven't subscribed to anything!

I'm going to stop here, because Vodacom doesn't even deserve the time and effort put into this rant. I mean "review".

Oh wait. There is one last thing. The Vodafone cellphones.... Need I say more..
