WORKSHOP VODACOM DOESNT FOLLOW CPA... Pathetic rude service!

I purchased the buy 1 get 1 free power banks for R199 from the Vodacom shop in the Workshop, Durban Central on the 27/11/2019. Before the purchase I spoke to the sales consultant and said that I am purchasing on behalf of someone and whether I would be able to return the item for a REFUND if the person isn't happy with the item. The sales consultant said that I can return the item for a refund as long as I have the receipt and its within 7 days. Today (2019/12/01) I went to the store to return the item. First I spoke to the staff member on the floor who said that I cannot return it as there is nothing wrong with the product and that I should speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager Waseem and he was abrupt and said that I can only exchange the item for something else and that I cannot get a refund. I spoke to him about the consumer protection act which allows a 'cool off period' and allows customers to return the product for cash within 7 working days, he said that i should go to the consumer court because they dont follow the act at the store. I asked him to show me the terms and conditions on the vodacom website, he said that I should do that by myself. i asked him to allow me to speak to the owner, he said that I should call him. I requested them to call the owner , he said that I should call from my own phone which I did do. When I spoke to the owner he said that I cannot get a refund and that the consumer protection act is for call centres and not the store. I also argued that the consultant ensured that I can return the product for a refund and he said that we cannot prove that as the sales agent will lie. He said that I should take it up with my attorney and that he is getting another call and cannot speak to me. I cannot believe the horrific sales and after sales service that I received. Actual staff members of vodacom says that their staff are *****. The owner of the store actually disregards the CPA act and says that its for call centres. Vodacom is a reputable company but pathetic franchise owners like these treat customers like me in a rude and unprofessional manner. The vodacom terms and conditions allows the return of items for a refund, but stores like these do not follow terms and conditions neither are they trained on the importance of customer care and the CPA act. PATHETIC!!!
