WIFI PACKAGE
I was approached by a door-to-door sales promotion team on 26 January promoting a fantastic package for R699 which was 50mbps up & down. With my current provider I was paying the same amount for 25mbps up & 10 down. I gave a month's notice to my service provider as I work from home and my livelihood depends on fibre. As the time neared I made sure I called the number given to me 2 weeks in advance to see that there would be no problems. This was the sales company. My wifi got cut at 11pm on the 27 February by my current service provider. I followed up & threatened to go to Hello Peter & the lady of the sales company directs me to Vodacom. My first interaction with Vodacom was on 3 March & I just want to say that all the people I subsequently dealt with were amazing in trying to resolve my issue but it seems the departments do not speak with one another. Every time I spoke with a consultant & explained the problem, they opened an order which until my last interaction with them was 3 to date. They connected me to the support team & an incredibly helpful person explained that they cannot process my order as there were 3 opened and that after speaking to his manager they could only give me fibre on 1 April as they would have to cancel all these orders and restart the process all over again. This was on 6 March and I had been cut off from fibre for 7 days at this point. I argued with the consultant stating how is it my fault that 3 orders were opened and that cancellation of each of these orders would take 2 weeks to be processed before I could apply for a new one? Fibre is my lifeblood in my work. They put me through financial and emotional stress for their blatant stupidity in their processes. The consultants were only following what they were told and really were trying to assist me but the different departments really did not know what the other was doing. I had to urgently communicate with my former service provider who immediately reactivated my wifi. This has left a sour note regarding Vodacom. The absolute disregard I feel for my plight because of their bungles has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would suggest people wanting to buy their fibre products be vigilant and check that when they speaking to a consultant, that an order is not being raised as was in my case. I was penalised for Vodacom's ineptitude.
