Wifi Calling Feature Disabled on Vodacom Supp**** Phones.

I am using a Samsung S6 handset that was originally supp**** by Vodacom on contract. The phone is now out of contract and I wish to use the wifi calling Contract (on another network). I have been to 3 Vodacom/Vodafone shops and they have not been able to help me. I have also been to Samsung and they have to lift the restriction. Vodacom only support Wifi calling on an iPhone, so presumably this is the reason they disable the wifi calling option on other handsets. After an hour of being on the phone, I have been informed that I have to log a service request and that it will take 7 to 14 working days to investigate or resolve my request to enable the wifi calling feature. Reference 1- ********** **********

In my view this the s evidence of Vodacom abusing their dominant position. While you are resolving this issue would it be possible to also remove the Vodacom banner that displays when I start up the phone.

Vodacom have responded. Response not acceptable as Vodacom are justifying disabling functionality on a phone that is out of contract and which was fully paid for. Why must I now pay to restore this S6 and later on the S7 to what we thought was an original Samsung handset. We're the restrictions disclosed to the customer? Is there anything about this in Vodacom's T&C's ICASA you happy with this?

Ref: 1- ********** ********** Vodacom responded on email and not through this forum and have not given a definitive explanation or a solution. 19/10 Still waiting for a response. The Footer of the mail from a Vodacom/Lesley Abels states "This email is classified C2 - Vodacom Restricted - Information to be used inside Vodacom but it may be shared with authorized partners." Why? Would it not be ethical for the networks to inform their customers that Vodacom load software on phones they supply that removes standard features of the Original Phone. I am still waiting for a solution. I called 111 today from a Vodacom Handset. Line was dropped and the CSR (Sbu?) called me back. Thank You Sbu, He then transferred me to the correct department as I already have a service request. Line dropped again but this time the CSR could not be bothered to call back Dear Vodacom/Vodafone ... The PROBLEM/ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED and I will not go away either.

Really disappointed in Vodacom. It’s now 4 weeks and still no action plan to resolve or address this issue. Last week, I went to Samsung and they confirmed that Vodacom do indeed make changes to the phones they supp****. I really don’t have an issue with Vodacom adding their logo, Games and Music but taking away or disabling Standard Manufacturer supp**** features is not acceptable and not disclosing this is unacceptable. UNACCEPTABLE REMINDER: The phone is out of contract and in use on a network that supports WiFi calling. WHEN WHEN
