Why Vodacom shouldnt exist

In December 2016 I tried using both the Vodacom App and USSD to buy data. It said an sms would be sent once the data had been loaded. I never received the sms and tried again and then a few days later again. I never received any sms for any of my attempts.

In January all 42GB of data was then loaded on phone with 6 days left until they expired. On the 10th Jan when I realised what had happened I called the Customer Care center. The gentlemen I spoke to said he could see the bundles and agreed they should be removed. He logged a call to remove them and promised that I would not be charged for them.

However, at the end of the month I was charged for all 42GB and the money was debited from my account. As the rest of my debit orders were going to come off in the next few days I phoned to enquire why I had been charged the full amount. The Customer Care agent said she could see that there was a system flow request to remove the bundles and that by the end of the day everything would be rectified. It wasn’t. I called twice during the next couple of days and had very little success except for a few interactions with *********** and rude call agents. I then decided to take matters into my own hands and reversed the debit order at my bank.

I then called to explain to Vodacom what I had done and to beg them to bill me for the correct amount as I understood I did owe them money for the contract and data I had used. No one could give me a figure.

Throughout the month of February I tried calling them to try get this information out of them but had no success. I did however, receive a multitude of voice calls reminding them that I owed them money but not once did I ever get to a person who could help.

At the end of the month my phone was cut off. I called Collections and Customer Care 3-4 times to help me out. No one could tell me the amount, an agent told me he didn’t know how I should go about paying, I had an agent put down the phone as well as a supervisor. According to them there was no record of me ever logging this issue. I then eventually manage to speak to a reasonable competent call agent who then told me I had to pay R2500. Which I did. Then called back to say I had paid and if they could reconnect my phone. That agent then told me that I owed R2800 and not R2500. So I paid the additional R300. It was also during this time that the supervisor confirmed that my account had been credit with the R3000 and that everything was now sorted.

WRONG! I still got sms’s to say I was in arrears and still got calls. On the 18th March my phone was disconnected again. I have spent this morning 20th March speaking to 3 agents and one supervisor. No one has the correct info, no one can help me and I don’t have access to my phone.

I also got a call from their lawyers to say they are going to reclaim my assets to pay for my outstanding payment.

How is it possible that I am being made out to be a ******** when its Vodacom that cannot provide me with the information I am looking for. They cannot provide a proper service when it comes to customer care.

I need to listen to voice recording when calling in about how Vodacom values their customers and puts their time and safety first. What nonsense.

Vodacom you are a disgrace to the telecoms industry and to the country. How is this not corporate *******ion and big business bullying. You all should be ashamed of yourself.

Your staff are rude and ***********
You do not offer customer care at all - false advertising
You take people ‘s money and falsely accuse them

Not one person I have spoken to has had a good experience with Vodacom and I believe its unacceptable that a big company can act like this and deal with people’s finances in such a way.

Its ********.
