Why do spare parts take forever and a day to get?

I booked my phone in for repairs last week and have been getting an SMS that my phone is still in the repair process waiting for spare parts sometimes I get this sms 2-3 times a day, besides the repair process taking forever these SMS' are annoying!!!!! Can Vodacom leave me alone and text me when my phone is ready for collection??? Thanks
