whatsapp discontinue

I've been a client with Vodacom from 2000.

Last year September I upgraded to a blackberry 10.

I received a message from whatsapp stating that from 31 Dec 2016 my device will no longer support the whatsapp app.

After going into the branch at Woodlands pretoria, they informed me that the only option I had was to pay in R7000 to cancel my current contact and get a new contract.

The biggest problem I hav is that I am a business owner. I own a Beauty Salon and 99.9% of our bookings are made on whatsapp. I cannot afford to not have whatsapp!

I phoned head office and was informed that that indeed was my only option.

I find it difficult to believe that there is no way an exception to a premature upgrade can't be make.

As I will be signing a contact with Vodacom for another 2 years, and will stil be a client for years to come,as I have never had an issue with them.

I did phone cell c regarding their buyout services, but they no longer do that. And I really do not want to change to another service provider

I sincerely understand that Vodacom did not foresee this problem coming, but I am sure that there are going to be more complaints regarding this, as I know my father will be having the same problem as I am now currently dealing with.

As a business owner this is a very difficult situation and as stated I cannot for the life of me believe Vodacom cannot find a way to accommodate a client, that has has contracts with them for 16 years!!

Kind regards

Hermien Krüger
