What is going on at Vodacom Umhlanga

Good day

On the 17th of September 2022 I dropped off my Phone for repairs at Vodacom Umhlanga. It is one of four devices that my wife has insured with Vodacom as well as a Mobile Router that isn't insured.

The person assisting "Chad" checked out the phone and my wife's credentials, confirming the phone is insured.

The phone was then booked in for cosmetic repairs and we were informed that it will be ready Within 3 to 5 days once we accept the quote.

I received an sms notifying that I have to pay R2000+ for repairs and should call Vodacom Umhlanga to okay the repairs.

I called and queried the amount and was told the phone isn't insured. I asked to check again and was told I'll be contacted shortly. After not being contacted for a couple of days I called back and was told the same thing and that I'll be called back. This went on this way for almost two weeks until your staff eventually sent me a msg saying my phone won't be repaired and I should come fetch it. All this while the Vodacom insurance stated that they were waiting for a quote.

I called again and this time they told me that now realize that I have insurance and must wait for a quote.

My wife was informed that there will be an excess of R200 which she accepted and nearly a week later I was informed that the phone can be picked up.

After picking up the phone I now found that my fingerprint sensor wasn't working and informed whom I was told is the manager, Ian.

He apologized and promised to get back to me regarding picking up my phone and getting sorted as well as providing me with a loan device. He hasn't gotten back to me and I cannot get a hold of him when I call the store.

I'm confused and extremely frustrated as I can't get a straight answer or proper service from a provider that I'm using for about 20 years + now.

Please help as this back and forth to your store in Umhlanga is extremely costly.
