WHAT IS GOING ON AT VODACOM???
I had the most horrid experience at the Vodacom Shop at the Pavillion Shopping Centre (Durban) yesterday. On or around the 4th of July 2021 I had gotten my mother (who is the account holder of my contract) and brother to take in my Samsung Galaxy Tab A for the screen to be replaced. They (my mother and brother) had spoken with a consultant of whom sorted out their contracts for a Huawei Matebook and a Huawei Mate40. He then booked in my tablet under "Warranty Manufacturer" and advised the both of them that the screen replacement will be done as per the warranty on the contract. We then left happy knowing that this will get sorted. We then get an SMS from the Vodacom Repair centre advising that I will need to pay a sum of R2500,00 for the repair to the screen which didn't make any sense given the fact that the consultant already advised it would be no cost due to it being under warranty. I then went through to the store yesterday (3 August 2021) to find out what's been going on and why the repair was not done only for the very same consultant to deny ever having said that he booked this as a warranty. He further chose to be rude and asked if I think that he does not know his "protocols and procedures", in his exact words.. "I would never say that". The question I then posed to him, is he calling us *****??
To my error we had left the paperwork at home which clearly states on the booking in of the tablet for the repairs "Type: Warranty(MNFR)". So in terms of this.. what kind of treatment is this? For a paying customer with more than 1 contract with Vodacom??? Is this how the staff have been trained to handle such issues of which is clearly their error??? Is this how the staff speak to their customers???
To add further insult to injury, I then find out that the reason for my not getting my allocated data on the tablet monthly is because the consultant who finalized my contract at the Chatsworth branch handed over a prepaid sim card to me and NOT the contract sim for the tablet. This is since November that I've been having issues with connectivity thinking it was merely just a network issue because I've been home majority of the time, now that I'm out I noticed that I've not been getting the data. So from November 2020 to date that is 18 gigs of data (@2GB per month). What happens to this now??? This is not my first issue with regards to this contract, it's absolutely disappointing to see this happen to such a prestige network. WHAT IS GOING ON AT VODACOM?
