What horrible service!!!

I only really get to do with Vodacom every two years (when upgrading) and EVERY SINGLE TIME I get SO annoyed that I serious consider cancelling the contract and moving to another service provider. I do not think that I have EVER received good service from Vodacom.

The cell phone number I currently have is my first cell phone number (which my sister took out for me while I was still in school). Since I have started to work (so 3 upgrades ago) I have been trying to transfer the ownership of this number to mu name. With my previous upgrade (after several trips to the branch and 3 follow-up trips) I FINALLY managed to transfer ownership to my name (or so I thought). Now, 2 years later I decided to spare myself the infuriating experience of going to a branch and to upgrade online. OH MY GOODNESS WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!! Firstly, guess what? The number WAS never transferred to my name: I was listed as a “3rd party” on my sister’s account. As a result, RAM hand 2 hand couriers pitched at my house with my upgrade – asking for my sister's ID to be able to deliver the parcel. OBVIOUSLY, I did not have my sisters ID and so the parcel just went BACK with the delivery guy!!!

After 90mins on the phone with Vodacom, being sent from pillar to post – the last operator informed me that I will have to either: 1) Go to a branch to sort it out (PS my sister and I do not stay in the same province) OR 2) I should have my sister drive to me (with her 3 month old baby by the way) – so when the delivery guy shows up the next day to make a second delivery attempt (according to RAM’s policy) – then the problem is solved.

HOW ON EARTH ARE THESE 2 OPTIONS VIABLE OPTIONS TO SOLVE MY IMMEDIATE PROBLEM?

I won’t bore you with the rest of the details, but needless to say, the problem is NOT resolved and I have NO idea when I will be able to upgrade.

Vodacom, do us all a favour and READ A BOOK ON CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT!
