What has happened to customer service?

I have been a customer of Vodacom since 1999, with multiple cell and data contracts. One of these cell phone accounts were up for renewal / upgrade which I did in the beginning of November 2017 via their on-line department. I received the upgrade phone (iPhone6) a week later. The phone started to "swell up" after 3 weeks, at which point I contacted Vodacom's on-line department for advise on the next steps. They advised me that they will arrange to pick up the phone and reverse the upgrade process within 3 working days after receipt of the phone. After many phone calls, visits to Vodacom shops and requests to call me back, I have still not received any confirmation that the upgrade has been reversed. I am now without this cell phone, paying the full subscription amount and do not get any reliable feedback. The worse is that every time I call a contact centre agent (Tebogo, Riaz, Cherylin and Brandon), they tell me that they will personally see to it and get back to me - NO FEEDBACK

Thank you for the prompt reply. However, I am not going to hold my breath as this is the exact response that I have been getting from Vodacom for the last month, yet yielding no outcome or resolution to this situation - which was caused by Vodacom in the first place.

So as expected, another empty promise by Vodacom. I was contacted by Moddy (call center agent) on the 8th at 14:00 (very quick after the initial complaint I might add) just for me to reexplain the same situation again. And again I was told that they will investigate and get back to me. Imagine if I was actually holding my breath...

I finally received a call from Moddy (Vodacom call center) on the 11th at 10:08. It is evident that the agents, or anyone working at Vodacom, do not read. I explained the whole process of events on my initial post, but I find myself reiterating what I said all the time. This is actually pathetic! Yet again, my title is confirmed: What has happened to customer service? Absolutely nothing. I am still without a phone or any indication as to what will be done with this situation that Vodacom has put me in.
