What Happened to the words UNDER WARRANTY

I took my phone in for repairs on the speaker and the asked if they could check why the phone keeps rebooting. Only to get served with a quotation of R1400.00<br> The phone is not even a year old yet but they want me to replace a lcd screen that their engineers claim to be damaged. When I dropped the phone off for repairs there was nothing wrong with the screen as it was working fine and I never had issues with it, for heavens sake the screen still had a screen protector on that is how well looked after the phone is. Now the repair centre is sending my phone back without repairing it as I refused the quote. Now I ask why is there such a phrase as under warranty when companies choose when it applies and when it doesn't. No 1 at the repair centre ever returns my calls and the manager of the N1 city branch Michelle cant even explain to me why they are claiming front screen damage when I didn't book the phone in like that. I have always been happy with Vodacom until now and I am furious at the service or shall I say non service I am experiencing.
