What ever you do don't subscribe to a Vodacom Fibre account
Supporting the Health department in the middle of a pandemic, requesting an upgrade to my Fibre line. This seems to be a simple request that does not require any physical intervention just a simple provisioning setting. Turns out it is easier to go to Mars as this request is beyond their capability, impossible to do.
If you do not have a Vodacom telephone number you can not register a request online. it is incomprehensible that a Vodacom Fibre client might not have a Vodacom phone account. Without a valid Vodacom phone you are *****ed.
When you eventually get to speak to a helpdesk operator and lodge an urgent request. you get ignored. Mieta Sishuba is assigned to my request but seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. 10 days for an urgent simple upgrade and still waiting. Pathetic service no escalation no reply other than an auto-response. I have become accustomed to bad service but this is at another level. If you ever considered getting a Fibre connection trough Vodacom seriously get someone else. They shape your access making Skype and hangout meetings virtually impossible. There is no after-sale service. If you get to lodge a ticket good luck on getting any responses. For an online provider, they truly suck at being online. I hope this helps someone to make the right choices when it comes to choosing a service provider, and not make the same mistake I did in thinking the branding would support the service.
I must acknowledge, you did call me back 2 days after this post. It is now 27 days after requesting an expedited request. Still, no call back from the fibre consultant and my speed is exactly as it was when I requested for it to be upgraded.
I stand by my post. Whatever you do do not sign up for a Vodacom fibre contract!!
I also support the heath department with advising on mobile connectivity it seems you will be losing another 400 mobile connections soon.
Service is key and that we do not receive from Vodacom.
