what a shambles, don't call it customer care... they don't

I finally had a call back from Vodacom who had debited my account in October 2022 two weeks after me cancelling and returning a data sim because they said I couldn't use it for calls (after it arrived, not during the sales call).

I had passed their credit check with flying colours to get the sim but when I tried to get another deal they said I had outstanding issues on the account and that I was blacklisted and since I could not pass the credit check I must wait 90 days because their system is set up that way. I had to call over two weeks to get them to admit thei=y received the sim by which time a payment came off my account.

After 90 days I reapp**** still no one could tell me why I couldn't get a plan yet they still would not refund their erroneous charges and kept promising to call back. I sent messages and called and complained on Hellopeter twice and finally today 5 months later I got a call. All they could do was offer to apply to have my money returned to my account, the money they still had since October. No assistance to get this sorted, no explanation, just advice to please call another department if I want to try to make another application, AND no way to check if their system still had any issues blocking my ability to apply for a contract.

I have been a pre pay customer for 7 years... means nothing to them... nice

Reviewer Update
I did call the sales agent and got this reply...

The results of your application for the referral number ***5 has come back as declined due to an unsatisfactory payment profile with Vodacom, we would advise you to kindly contact Experian on *** to get a credit review to ensure there is no negative information listing under your credit profile.

I then completed a credit check on Experian and passed with flying colours. This is my latest email to them to get this sorted, I add it here as I have had no response from them any other way...

Hello Vodacom Customer Care.
I have gone to the source to do a credit check for myself on the same system you say I fail on. Yet I get 666 score which they label GREAT so should be more than enough of a green light to get a contract with you. Still to this day Vodacom have placed my account on some sort of black list. The only reason I can see for the decline is on the Vodacom system itself and not on the Experian system as I have proven as I received all the details from your sales agent as to which credit check you do.

I would like to therefore get a full breakdown of why and how this has occurred as it was only since I passed the credit check, got a contract with you and cancelled it and returned the sim card. It took many calls to get the contract cancelled and if someone has done it wrong on your system I would appreciate it being fixed. It is on your internal system, as you did not log the return of the sim before I app**** to get another contract, the same one actually but using my current phone number.

Many thanks
