We are really being **********

I called Vodacom this past Saturday to query something and was helped by a very friendly lady. After she assisted with my query, I mentioned to her that I am looking at downgrading my current package as I am not utilizing the "benefits" I receive. I am on a smart XL package and pay R739 a month. for this I get 400 minutes airtime. As she told me all the different packages they have on offer she mentioned the smart M + at R469 per month and you also get 400min per month. When I questioned this she told me that the package that I am on, the smart XL, was discontinued about a year ago for new customers and that the packages has now changes. Thus for more than a year Ive been paying R270 more per month for receiving the same " benefit" as other users that is on a lower package. They then suggested I downgrade to the Smart M + at R469 per month, but I have to pay a migration fee of R700. They want me to pay R700 to move to a package that has the same "benefits" as what I am on now. Really now. This is how they value a customer that has been with Vodacom for more than 15 years. I really cannot wait for my contract to expire next year so that I can be rid of Vodacom.

Reviewer Update
Almost a week later and I still have had no feedback from Vodacom. I received an email from a lady asking for all my personal detail, including the answers to the standard security questions. I do not feel comfortable to provide all this information via email as one can never be sure that you are in fact sending this info to Vodacom. I just called Vodacom and they cannot provide me with a contact number for the team that manages the hello peter queries.
