Water Repair results in Broken Screen
Handed phone in at Greenstone. The repair report says the phone does not switch on due to water damage. The phone is sent via Ram Couriers To Fourways Repair Centre. Two days later I receive a quote for R2900 telephonically. When asking for detail, a broken screen mentioned. The phone only two days old, had no broken screen when handed in. Escalated this to the manager who promised to investigate & come phone me. A week later I phoned the repair center to enquire. The phone is confirmed as fixed. Asked for price & the screen is still included. Escalated this to Dumi, who says the people I handed the phone to are not experts and may have missed the broken screen. I must now wait 21 days for an investigation at what point Vodacom broke the screen. I was forced to log a call at the customer call center who promised resolution within 48 hours. It is now a 7 days later than that and still nothing. Why must I who handed my phone in without a broken screen pay for the screen to be replaced. Also why should the consumer have to wait for Vodacom to figure out who in their organisation is to blame.
