WATCH OUT WHEN CANCELLING A CONTRACT!!!

Deceptiveness at its finest!!!! Stay away from this company.

I phoned to cancel a contract. I told the guy I was going overseas for good. He then said he’d change me over to another package which I thought was prepaid, and he said I’d be billed for the last time this month. He then offered me 1 gig for the month of August before I leave, for R80. I agreed.

I then got an SMS saying I’d been successful in signing up for a RECURRING 1 gig data per month! He did NOT tell me it would recur per month, he made it sound as if it would be for the month of August, as I’d already told him I was leaving on the 12th.

So, I go to my local Vodacom store, for them to tell me that the subscription wasn’t cancelled, it was transferred to another month-to-month package, with the 1GB WhatsApp data!!! What??? None of this was even discussed, never mind agreed on! We called the cancellation department again and they’ve had to put in a request to have it cancelled. Funny how it needs to be requested, when no contract was agreed on.

Absolutely disgusting and *********! I will never support this company even if I come back to SA on holiday. Please, if you call to cancel a contract, be very firm and do not let them talk you in to even 500MB of data. They’re super ‘friendly’ and speak quite fast.

I hope this comment can help at least one person.
