WASP services taking airtime

Every time I buy airtime, my airtime would finish fast. At first, I thought it was because of cellphone banking charges and maybe the rates have gone really high up. But, they hadn't. I called customer care and was told I had subscribed to WASP services. So I asked how I was subscribed and she said I must have done it when downloading something during a 'pop-up message'. This is of course not true so I let it go. Then I asked, what does this WASP service even do? To which rep**** "nothing, it just takes your airtime". I don't understand why this program even exists then. She said she fixed it and I will recieve smses to confirm - I have recieved nothing.

This is it for me and Vodacom. I have done what I can to stay but it's just not cost effective anymore and they keep finding new ways to disrespect their customers (e.g. bad customer services, WASP, etc.) I am porting! I don't know to where yet but I'm definitely not staying with Voda.

WASPS are third parties developing and offering services using the Vodacom network. They make use of Vodacom's cellular network infrastructure and billing relationship with the subscriber to deliver and bill for these services, such as SMS voting, Traffic reports, Games, Competition lines, banking transaction charges etc. Customer’s accept and register to WASP services via sms/calls at their own will.
Our records reflect that your number was unsubscribed.
WASPs (who are the providers of the content) are within their rights to appoint an agent to bill and collect money on their behalf for content sold by them to their customers.
It is not required in law for the agent (in this case Vodacom) to have a specific agreement with, or permission from, the customer, to bill and collect the money on behalf of the WASP.
Notwithstanding the above, the agreement concluded between each WASP and Vodacom provides that every WASP that utilizes Vodacom's services to bill and collect monies for the WASPs' products/services, may only instruct Vodacom to bill and collect money for those products/services that have been specifically requested by customers.
Moreover the Wireless Application Service Provider Association (WASPA) has been constituted to regulate all WASPs to ensure, inter alia, that they abide with the aforementioned provision. Please note that you may contact WASPA via email at *** or call on ***.
