Was this an error by Vodacom or a plan to ****** more money?
So... its Black Friday and Vodacom release their specials that they are marketing for the weekend. I was especially interested in their promotion for 20GB for R175/month which could be added onto an existing contract. I was hoping to have this added to my contract but could not see the option on either the MyVodacom app or on the USSD options, as was explained to be via the Vodacom agent on Saturday morning.
I went into a Vodacom store in Gateway later that day and the lady their checked her system and could not find my details on the system. Neither my cell number nor my ID number could be found.
She then told me that the reason for this was because my number was once a corporate contract and had been changed to an individual contract bit that the contract was still on the “old system” (what ever that means) .... But due to this I was not eligible for the promotion.
Well Vodacom! Why is it that you want to prevent a customer from being able to save money?
I was happy to hear from the Vodacom rep that they would contact me and assist.... Its been 2 days and the promotion is no longer available....and Vodacom has still not contacted me...
If I could change the rating to 1 or 0 stars, I would

Today , personally I feel that the request made was ridiculous. Your staff member wanted me to show him proof of the message / link I received showing me about the promotion. This due to the fact that Vodacom’s T&C’s may have excluded me from the deal.
I was unable to find the link so he abruptly stated that he would not be able to assist. And as far as he (and I suppose Vodacom) is concerned the matter is closed. And they have a happy customer.
This could not be further from the truth.
So Dear Vodacom Customer “Care”
Please type the following into your Google search bar...
“Mybroadband” “vodacom” “black friday” “deals”
The search results will show up (within the 1st 3 searches) a link to the mybroadband page showing vodacoms deals.
The main deal being reported on is the 20GB for R175 offer. And it states that it can be bolted onto “any existing vodacom contract”
So please. Use this info. Maybe another customer can be spared the irritation that you caused me today.
