Warranty phone not repaired

My Samsung S4 mini mobile phone stopped working on Saturday evening 26 September for no apparent reason. The phone was taken to the Vodacom Canal Walk Service Centre, as the phone is still within the 2 year warranty period. The phone was booked in without an initial assessment being done.

On Tuesday (29 Sept) I received a message that there is a quote for the repair, I went to the repair centre, only to be told that the phone has moisture damage and that this is not covered by the warranty.

1) At no point was the phone physically exposed to any form of liquid for it to get moisture damage!
2) Vodacom and their relevant suppliers tend to use any form of loophole to escape the warranty repair process.
3) The phone is 18 months old, signs of wear and tear will be evident with everyday use, a phone does not stay in pristine condition.
4) A phone that is suitably protected, as mine normally is, should not be able to be exposed to any form of corrosion / moisture if it is sealed correctly.
5) We live near the sea, corrosion happens with all kinds of devices, it is to be expected, this should not be used as a tool to avoid a warranty claim.

THE PHONE HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED
